VISION

Onyx et Ivory represents a signature art studio. The studio's name and philosophy are based on the symbolism of two contrasting materials. Onyx (a mineral) represents depth, focus and inner strength, while ivory brings light, delicacy and respect for the traditional artistic process. This apparent contrast is harmoniously combined in the studio's logo in the form of the symbol Ø, which symbolises the intersection of both worlds. It is the moment where the intuitive artistic process meets reflection.

Marie Bajnarová's professional career has long occupied the intersection of education, visual arts and the reflection of the artistic process with a social dimension.

In 2025, when she joined the graphic design studio at the Faculty of Architecture in Brno, she returned to traditional printmaking and signature art, building upon specific archival graphic works. Her artistic and pedagogical journey is supported by a strong academic foundation. She is a graduate of the Secondary School of Art in Ostrava (specialising in scientific drawing and illustration) and earned her Bachelor's degree (Bca.) at Eduard Ovčáček's Traditional Printmaking Studio at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Ostrava. She completed her Master's degree in Art Education at the Faculty of Education, University of Ostrava, and subsequently at Masaryk University in Brno, where she also successfully concluded her doctoral studies (Ph.D.). She gained extensive experience in practical environments, such as the painting studio of the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre and the restoration studio of the Museum of the Nový Jičín Region. As an assistant professor at the University of Ostrava and the Silesian University, she focused on art didactics and art therapy. It was the desire to apply this extensive knowledge within the context of art and the artistic process that led her to found the Onyx et Ivory studio.

The studio is conceived as a non-commercial platform.
