INITIATIVE

Onyx et Ivory is a creative initiative focused on connecting the artistic process, education, and reflection on visual culture. The inspiration is drawn from the symbolism of gemstones – onyx, representing depth, strength, and inner focus, absorbs shadow and transforms it in silence, protects against external influences, and fosters perseverance and wisdom; and ivory, whose whiteness and delicacy embody purity, light, spiritual balance, and unique value, evoking respect for the past, tradition, and elegance. The symbolism of these gemstones reflects the philosophy of the texts published. Just as onyx and ivory unite depth and purity, the texts combine theoretical reflection with practical artistic process, supporting the development of creativity, critical thinking, and understanding of visual culture.

Within the initiative, scholarly and educational texts are produced that explore the significance of art not only from an aesthetic perspective but also as a tool for education and social discourse. The initiative focuses on two key areas: fostering active engagement in the artistic process and promoting theoretical understanding of art, both historically and in contemporary contexts. The texts aim to support the development of artistic practice, critical evaluation skills, and a deeper understanding of visual culture in educational and social contexts.
